[LinP3] ferry vs. Airlines

My son says the airline industry is just a big scam and it is better to use the ferry system than the airlines. Is that true?

According to him, it is best to get a private room on one is about 4,000 pesos or 95 dollars round trip. Is there any thoughts on this good or bad?

[LinP3] Re: Lawyer / Attorney needed

Erik

I recently used Michael Yu located on the third floor of Jet House on
Jones Steet Cebu for a property purchase. he came highly recommended
by a local Doctor Friend and has been a gods end in explaining the
differences in real estate purchase here as compared to overseas

He worked out great. Very honest, very good english so you can
understand the comments and works to the standard 1% scale, with no
attempt to rip you off. If interested send me a private email and I
will give you the details such as phone number etc

Re: [LinP3] Customs?

Ron,

You hit on the one time that luggage goes through customs without
your presence. If your luggage is lost, misrouted, etc you are
required to sign a form giving permission for the lock to be cut so
a customs check can be done (forget TSA locks they are only valid
within US). I just had this happen in Aug, when my bag caught up with
me 5 days later, the locks had been cut and several items were
missing, luckily I learned long ago that nothing valuable ever goes
into checked baggage. And besides it's not customs you worry about,
its the baggage handlers. This is not urban legend, at major airports
in the US baggage handlers have been caught on tape going through
passengers luggage prior to it going to the plane or the baggage claim
area.

Mike,

My son, who lives in Bacolod, would certainly disagree with you
on the cleanliness, he says it is the dirtiest city he has ever been
to outside of Manila. He says the air pollution is so bad that if
you get caught in the rain without a head covering you can smell and
feel the diesel in your hair. But other then that he enjoys it.

Visa extensions are a piece of cake in CDO, usually takes less than an hour. The Bureau of Immigration is located on Osmena St., just make sure the taxi driver knows the place before you get in the taxi.

Never heard of anyone hiring a travel agent there, but you may get a response...
