Re: [LinP3] Re: Handling the falling dollar.

Yea, I was there when it was 3.75 to the dollar,, but hell a San Miguel was only 50 centavos at your local sari sari store,, 1.00 pisos in ur bars,, ladies drink 2.00.. cud get a Super Bock San Miguel for 35 centavos down at the Rotunda,, LOL as a matter of fact beer at the Rotunda was only 50 centavos. if anywone remembers the Rotunda.., coldest beer in town in those days. I was there again in the early 70's when the rate of exchange was 20 to 1.
Beer was only 3 to 5 pisos,, depending again where u bought it... but golleee, now ?? How much is a beer?...my simple way of determining how much it cost to live somewhere,,
How much is the Beer??
I was there in Sept,, went over to 1st Street,, not too many foreigners were over there,, the beer in the bar i was in was 35 pisos..walked from there over to Fields,,and it drastically Jumped up to 50 pisos a beer,, but in some of the small bars behind fields it was 40 - 45 P.

I kind of liked the place over on 1st st,, 35P and had a live band at that.

Unfortunately for those coming when 1:50+ you arrived at the best
possible time in what is always a cyclic wave

SOMETHING TO THINK ON - 1962.....$1.00 = P2.00
