I would feel more comfortable in replying if I knew your first name but here is my two cents on the insurance issue.
If God forbid your wife is in an auto accident AND you aren't in the car AND your name isn't anywhere on the paperwork, the minimum might be sufficient. But don't expect a fast payout and if anyone is injured, don't expect to get your car back until some settlement/medical expenses are paid to the other party.
Now if YOU are in an accident of significance or to a lesser extent if your name is on the paperwork, be thankful you were smart enough to be carrying at least P-1,000,000 in liability coverage. Even with the higher coverage, don't expect a fast payout and if anyone is injured, don't expect to get your car back until some settlement/medical expenses are paid to the other party.
As for buying anything (new or used) in the Philippines the words "buyer beware" come to mind. When buying used don't expect too much and you won't be TOO disappointed.
