You are correct! It is VERY dangerous here as two weeks ago a man was killed 50 meters from my rented home. I did not realize at the time but Mambaling is on the southern edge of Cebu city and MANY squatters here and also shabu addicts. Government housing is also here.Addicts run out of drugs early morning and that is when they do most of the stealing. I live in a compound with three other houses and someone jumped the fence last week in early morning. No harm was done but I went directly to Danao and purchased a .38 for future reference.
I have lived here 5 months and have known of 4 different robberies and also the aforementioned killing of sari-sari store owner. I live 100 meters from the McDonalds you mentioned!
For you newbies who are seeking a place in Cebu City I recommend safer barangay like these. Lahug, Guadalupe,Banawa.
