Re: [cebucitytoday] Re: Evolution/ Adaptation

Sorry Kenn it's been proven through DNA testing that dogs were bred from wolves. The domestic canine has a round eye and the wolf's is oval shaped for better night vision. I used to think it was not possible for dogs to have evolved from wolves because of the eye shape

Actually the there are many recognized animal behaviorists that also agree with the unlikeliness of Canis d. evolving from wolves. After working with thousands of dogs, myself, and after having studied wolves and coyotes for over 5 years, consulting with veterinarians and shelters on behavior modifications, and authoring a book on working with the behaviors of dogs I'd imagine that my knowledge of predators in general allows me my conclusions...nothing fast and loose about it and my accomplishments certainly are above nonsense.

For the most part when domestic dogs are bred to wolves the offspring is so aggressive they often kill one another. There are to many differences between dogs and wolves to belive that one evolved from the other. It's a convenient rumor for wanttabe trainers and amateur "behaviorists". Study them both for a few years and you'll see for yourself...or read text books written by others and then run around saying how true it is because you read it in a book.
