Rent/Lease/Live with
I won't specify a time limit only say wait to buy "decide" either until you have lived with your love long enough to be as sure as can be and until you decide where you really want to stay for the long term.
Neither can safely be decided in any reasonable short time period. Don't hurry either decision as both can be costly both financially and emotionally. It is always easier to pick up and move on when you live with your love and rent/lease your residence.
