[LinP3] Re: Widower Moving to Phils from USA with 2 TEENAGE DAUGHTERS...good

My wife used to be a manger of a Filipino ticket office in the Silicon Valley. She has seen a number of
Filipino families leave for the States when their children were young and try to return years later. Their children older now couldn't adapt back to the Philippines and had to leave again. Least we forgot
we had a fourteen year girl who used to write on this board about a year ago. Her father forced her to
come here and she felt so lonely.
As I said before my daughter came here in 4/7 and is going to school registered as
a Filipino. She speaks and writes the language and had been here many times before. Her grandparents
came from the Philippines and lived with us in California when she was young. She was the one who wanted to attend school here and I reminded here of the downfalls of coming but she insisted she wanted to come here. She came in the hottest time of the year but she loves it here and it has surprised me. She was
immediately accepted because she can speak the language. She tells me she likes school here better because
her female classmates treat here like a sister. They often hold hands and interlock arms here which at first
seemed a little strange when I saw that in the states. She is one of the top students in the class expect
for in Civics which is Filipino history which she gets help from her cousins. However again my daughter is
half Filipino who could speak the language and also watched Filipino cable back in the states. She grew
up watching half Filipino shows and also listening to the music thanks to her mother. Her ability to fit in
here so easily has even surprised her mother and grandmother. The only problem she has is getting a little freedom from her mother. Sometimes she wants to ride the Jeepany home with her friends or go to
watch movies with them on the weekends. Her grandmother pressures her mother(daughter) to raise her
the old fashion way. I have been able to convince them to give her some freedoms but she has to text
them constantly so they worry less.
