[LinP3] Re: Fast Food Franchise

Friends,

Here are the Chow King and McDonalds links.

It looks like you would need somewhere around 15-30M peso, thus in the
neighborhood of $300-700K USD to make it happen for any one of the three.

I'm quite curious as to how many viable sites remain available where there's
enough potential traffic to support a restaurant that don't already have an
existing franchise. For an investment of that size, I'd sure want to be
doing some SERIOUS homework first.

Last but not least, I would agree with those that suggested you should hold
off until you have been married for a while. Remember that you will be at
risk to your wife (and any other business partners) for an absolute minimum
of 60% of your investment, as 40% is the maximum holding in a corporation
that is allowed for a non-citizen.

From my experience, I'd say that somewhere around the two year mark was
where I felt that I knew my wife well enough to have absolute confidence
that things were not likely to go sideways. You definitely want to get past
that period of initial adjustment to married life. I'm sure that you could
use that time to scout locations and lay other necessary groundwork. Or you
could spend two years in the US getting her permanent residence.

Regards, Mike
