RE: [LinP3] **MOD NOTE{{LONG LIST OF ITEMS}}Wages in the Philippines- as of 2006

Thank you, Steven. This is interesting and maybe up to date. I think it is
large cities too, maybe a Manila wage survey.

I see:

5123 Waiters, Waitresses and Bartenders P7,920

I know so many here in "5123" in the booming City of Cebu, who make P2,500
per month, some even P1,500, no food or transportation. I know even in
Manila, so many people are paid less that these meager amounts. But this is
a reasonable wage scale. Some will have several incomes from "sidelines." It
is the money from overseas workers and now maybe call centers that really
make life almost affordable for many.

Thank your for you post!

Respectfully,
Don

Subject: [LinP3] **MOD NOTE{{LONG LIST OF ITEMS}}Wages in the Philippines-
as of 2006

I found this monthly wage chart on the Philippines Statistics website and
thought it might help when comparing what we as retires bring in terms of
income as compared to what the general population earns. I don't know for a
fact but it would seem to me to apply only to the largest cities and not the
more remote provinces.

You can see why when it is said you can live on a $1000 a month it is as if
you were earning as much as the highest paid people on this list. Of course,
some but not all of us could not or would not want to live on less and take
into consideration this is from 2006 too.
Inflation has hit the philippies pretty hard the last two years as it has
world wide.

11 months and 28 days to go.
Stephen
