I think the old "workfare" was a good idea...
Government helps people but makes them work for it...
even if it was just sweeping the street.

Ahhhh good grief! Government support, private
support, family support, personal support..... What a
soup pot! Neither is here nor there. Let it all stop
and then what will you have to talk about?
All have reaped good and bad results. None have
proven to be the ultimate solution. This applies to
all means of "giving". If one is given a "free"
education does he then expect to be given a job? An
abode, etc.? I think not. One can not profess that all
will become piranha and merely be scavengers.
Plenty take advantage of the "giving" and in return,
give back. It isn't the giving that is the the
problem, it is the management of the giving process.
