I'm looking at surgery at Asian Hospital within next 60 days. Here's the number to call for preauthorization (804) 673-1678. I'm not sure but I believe you can call them collect. I think they answer this number 24/7 so no problem with time difference. The BC/BS rep also told me that, as soon as I know the date I'll be admitted, I could call them and a rep will call Asian Hospital and give them approval to admit and billing instructions. Unfortunately, only the hospitalization can be billed directly to BC/BS; any required medical tests to be done as an outpatient (lab work) must be paid for upfront then a claim sent to BC/BS. Hope this helps.

Hi,
The Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Alabang, Muntinlupa City,
accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield as full payment. It's the hospital that
will get a pre-approval of any procedure. In emergency cases, as in
the case of an urgent surgery, the hospital will do it even if there's
no deposit to be made.
I know this because as a U.S. Federal retiree, I was once
hospitalized at the Asian Hospital, and it was the one that contacted
Blue Cross Blue Shield in the U.S. or Canada. It was a Blue Cross rep
from Canada who contacted my doctor with regard to the procedure to be
made. To be admitted, you have to show only your card. Upon
admittance, a so-called Privilege Card will be given to the patient.
There's also a hospital in Olongapo City that accepts the card. I
forgot its name. I think it's a general hospital.
