$550 one way from LAX may not be a bargain, but it seems to be the
going rate. I have paid $500+ from Honolulu to Manila, one way. For
some reason, one way is always more than half of a round trip fare.

from LAX seems to be a lot. I fly out of Chicago which usually is at
least $200 more than flights from LAX on round trips. I just paid $980
round trip total cost for 6 month open ended ticked leaving Feb 12Th
and could have gotten it for $920 if my stay was under 2 months.
