Re: [LinP3] Re: Bargain airfare USA to Philippines

Dan -
The terminal change in Taipei takes about 20 minutes in total. The two possible bottleneck areas are getting on the train ride and going through a security checkpoint somewhere in the middle of the process. One hour fifty minutes is no problem. On my last trip back to Hawaii, I had the same outbound flight as some friends who were going to Japan. We had time to talk for about 45 minutes before their flight boarded during the connection. On our way home from Hawaii, we had time to eat in Taipei. The food on the Taipei/Manila legs leaves a little to be desired.

Compare that with the process in Incheon(Seoul) where there is no terminal change and you only have to go up one level. I prefer changing in Incheon, but the Korean Air layovers tend to be longer than China Air in Taipei. Since Incheon opened about eight years ago the transit has been nice, a lot better than the old Gimpo airport in Seoul.

Mike,
I am not in favor of long walks but I suppose I could do that for
the three or four hundred dollars savings. Is the one hour and fifty
five minutes enough time.
I am sure that anyone in the US can get this rate.
