Flour is fairly cheap, at least on our island. We make most of our own
baked goods from scratch. We use a lot os flour, sugar and eggs for
making baked goods. Baking powder, [calumet], is available in small
packets. Baking soda is a bit harder to find, but even on our rural
island, it can be found. Milk is usually either powdered or irrediated.
Both have a taste, different than that expected by USA standards.
The flour is also a bit different, but it make great pizza and I have a few
recipes that islanders seem to love, called TNT, or tried and true.

I haven't seen Bisquick, but there are several pancake mixes available
in this area. They are expensive and not that great. We now make our
own with flour, eggs, milk, sugar, and baking powder. Yum.
