Hello - enjoyed your post about Tagaytay. We are planning to move out of Manila in early March because I can no longer tolerate the smog, crowds and traffic jams 24/7. How about lodging in Tagaytay? We would be interested in renting a one or two bedroom place with a nice view in a quiet area. I hate loud noises from music, etc. What suggestions would you have for housing? We would be looking at renting/leasing a place and not buying. Thanks for any help you can provide! ====Manila Bob

Hi Ian I am from london, and have been living in tagaytay 5 months now,
the weather here is 19-29, I hardly ever use a fan and no need for air
conditioning. they are building a robinson mall here too, should open
later this year or early part of 2009. traffic is light during the week
and get's busy at weekends and holidays. I have tried a few different
places in the P.I and Thailand but this is my favourite, only 90mins to
manila airport if the traffic is not too heavy. there is a casino here
and some great restaurants,
very popular with the local filipino's =steak and kidney pie and chips,
sausage and mashed potatoes and gravy, better than in the U.K!!! there
are many stalls selling fresh fruit and beautiful plants along the
road, so overall I think you might like it here. good luck David
