I think the finance could adapt a lot better than the children could. My wife adapted quickly when coming to the states since she had cousins close by for support. Also when she would go shopping she would go up to other Filipinos and introduce herself. Quickly she had many adopted sisters for support also. Of course that was in the Silicon Valley where the Filipino population his heavy. However my brother is also married to a
Filipina and they used to live in a trailer park in Huxley Iowa with a population of 200. On top of that he was a road survey and was gone all week long. She first went to Iowa in the dead of winter, boy that must have been a shock. She met and made friends through church groups who helped her adapt. She also learnt
how to use the Internet and uses the Web Cam to talk and see her relatives back in the Philippines. She found one of the few local jobs and learnt how to drive. From experience and observation filipinos can adapt quickly to different situations which probably comes from lessons learnt from hardships in the Philippines.
Your finance will miss her relatives and sometimes at first will cry but will quickly adjust. With today's technology it makes for a smaller world.
