dropping. Is there no bottom? I've heard that OFW's are unhappy
because their income is dropping with the dollar. There was a story
going around that Auntie Gloria would establish a special exchange
rate for the OFW's of 50pesos per dollar but so far that hasn't
happened to my knowledge.

they have lots of imported goods from the USA including washers,
dryers, foods, etc. It doesn't seem any more expensive to me than
local supermarkets/
stuff. It's inconvenient for us because no car so using a taxi
isn't easy.

Regardingpost above: Well I do not see any end is near on the
dollar/peso relationship. I now am very glad that I did not buy
property several years ago, almost 8 now here in Baguio, because I
just can not see the value in the property here. In the midst of
the dollar shrinking in value the landlord raised my rent, never
raised while peso was over 50 but, waited until 41 to dollar. I
have now switched my savings back to states in anticipation of
things getting worse. Laid off all workers until further notice,
stop tipping so much and have tightened the ship for rough seas. If
it drops to 30 to 1 like one poster said above, I will be making
plans to get underway to another port of call, for what is offered
here in the way of services it will not be worth it. At least in
other parts of the world even though I spend more I get more in way
of services, regular trash pick-up, water presssure, electric that
works most of time, and cable and internet that does not stop with
sudden change without notice, and governments that are some what
standard regarding routine operations. I hear that exports are
slowing and if the above is true they will stop from Philippines to
states. Are we in a recession already, one of Blomberg says yes
then 5 minutes later they say they dont think so. What is wrong
with this channel, I say we are in a Depression not recession. Now
the owner wants to run for president, he should run for cover, he is
a flip/flop rich New Yorker who should be voted out of office for
Mayor of New York, not put in charge of country. My views.......
